Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Dues: Rotary International (RI) and local Club dues $100/year, payable bi-annually
Initial Fee: For pin, badge and set-up expenses, $50 one time fee
Meeting Costs: Lunch & Meeting, $10.  Meeting only, $3
Attendance: RI requires an average of 60% per year, calculated quarterly.  We have about 52 meetings per year, or 13 per quarter.  60% is about 31/year or about 8/quarter.
Make-up Meetings: When on business or personal travel, meetings can be made up by attending one of the 29,000 clubs in the world.  Clubs meet at breakfast, lunch and dinner and provide an interesting way to touch the pulse of the area that you are visiting.
Fund Raising: All members are expected to participate in the major fund raising projects in some way.  Committees are established to provide the leadership but full Club support is necessary for an event's success.
Projects: Volunteers are needed for projects such as Frosty 5K Road Race, 2K Walk and Brunch (January 1), JazzFest parking (early summer), LobsterFest (late summer) and Rose Sale (early fall).  All Club members are expected to participate in at least some of the projects.  Other opportunities to participate include the Senior Citizen Holiday Luncheon , Caroling , Warm the Children, etc.
Social & Fellowship: All members are encouraged to participate with spouses if possible in the Installation Dinner and any other social events that are scheduled.  Spouses are welcome at any meeting and often significantly contribute to Rotary efforts.
Rotary Education: A new member education meeting will be scheduled prior to induction as a member of the Rotary Club of Guilford.
District Assembly: The Spring District Assembly is a highly recommended activity for all new members.  It is a weekday meeting in May.
District conference: Attendance by the Rotarian and spouse at the District Conference is recommended.
Committees: All members are asked to volunteer for a committee upon joining the Club.  Your input is encouraged.
