Senior's Luncheon
Early December
The Nathanael Greene Community Center
Each year since 1984, the Rotary Club of Guilford has provided the senior citizens of Guilford with a luncheon to recognize the contribution these seniors have made to the quality of life in Guilford. This luncheon is cooked and served by Guilford Rotarians. In recent years, it has been at the community center in early December. A holiday basket is packed with contributed items and items purchased by Rotarians. Santa Claus shows up and distributes these baskets to each attendee. The Guilford High School "Voices" arrives at an appropriate time to sing carols for the seniors. It is an event that is enjoyed by the Guilford seniors and also by the Rotarians who work to set up, cook, serve and clean up the community center afterwards.
If you are a Guilford senior citizen and would like to attend this event, please stop in at the community center and sign up for it so that we can have a count of people planning to attend.
The Guilford Carolers
It has become a tradition that, the evening of the Senior's Luncheon, Guilford Rotarians gather at a local nursing home and sing carols for the occupants. We are not great vocalists; if you are good and would like to help us, please contact a Rotarian to arrange to join us.
